Straight Magnets
Wiggling out from under the dark kitchen cabinets, I spotted something colorful stuck low on the white refrigerator door. Two flat, rectangular alphabet magnets had slid down near the floor seam, tilting crookedly. Moving on my four stubby feet, I pressed the flat top of my head against the lower blue letter block. It resisted with a stiff magnetic slide, making a faint scuffing noise. I pushed steadily until its long straight edge lined up perfectly level with the horizontal steel trim at the bottom. Then I bumped the red one next to it, matching the corners flush into a neat little barricade. The clean line felt deeply satisfying.
