Catching the Breeze
I trotted over to the front flowerbed to inspect our perimeter markers and found a two-tiered copper wind spinner anchored deep in the dark mulch. With the midday air quiet, its curved metal blades hung completely still. A dependable leader never leaves a wind station uncalibrated! I dug my boots firmly into the damp soil, reached high with both hands, and gave the lowest scoop a sharp, decisive shove. The wheel leaped into a brisk, humming spin, blurring into a warm bronze ring under the sun. Just as my hands dropped, an autumn gust caught the second rotor, setting both tiers whirring in perfect, roaring sync!
