Daylight Launch
Enough idling under plastic crates! Morning air swept right through the gap under the heavy metal fire door at the far end of the basement. I rolled out of my basket stall, wheels humming across the grey slab. Ahead lay a sharp upward lip where an old discarded metal dustpan formed a perfect takeoff wedge. Three, two, one—punch it! Full throttle straight into the metal slope. My tires bit the cold zinc edge with a sharp clatter, propelling my front splitter straight into the sunlight pooling outside on the cracked concrete apron. Exit achieved!
