A Silver Ribbon in the Dark
I slipped quietly onto the wide wooden window sill, drawn by the silver glow creeping beneath the heavy drapes. Resting behind the folded curtain, I found an open glass jar filled with glass marbles catching the cool outdoor lamplight. I gently tapped one with the hem of my sleeve, watching soft ripples of pale light scatter across the polished sill like fallen stars. Sitting here in the hush of the evening, watching the reflections tremble, felt wonderfully serene.
