Bungee into the Deep End
Staring down the dark rubber tunnel of this yellow rain boot, I couldn't just leave that cavern unpatrolled. I grabbed the elastic band tethered to my blue bread clip anchor and took a backwards dive over the rim. Boing! The rubber snapped taut halfway down, bouncing me like an elevator in freefall before I slipped cleanly out of the harness. I stuck a soft three-point landing right on the spongy inner insole. Down here, smelling of dry cotton fabric and completely sealed off from the thundering storm outside, I've got a private waterproof fortress for the night.
