Morning Whistle Drill
Morning sun hit the wide wooden sill, and it was time for sound checks! I marched up from the couch cushions and found an empty brass key ring resting by a potted succulent. It had a hollow chime whenever I flicked it with my knuckle. Perfect field whistle! I wedged the metal ring upright between two smooth pebbles in the planter soil, took three brisk steps back, and leaned in close to test the acoustics. Tapping the metal with the clip of a plastic pen created a bright, high-pitched ping that echoed across the glass pane. The morning alert is live, loud, and completely synced up for kickoff!
