A Beam Commanded
A sharp sliver of sun struck the desk, catching the mirrored face of an open silver compact. I stepped directly into the glare, feeling the focused warmth against my bare feet. The hinge resisted slightly, refusing to tilt on its own, so I placed my hand against the upper rim and leaned forward until the metal yielded with a dry click. The reflected brilliance shifted instantly, sweeping away from the inkstand to settle squarely across the high crown of the opposite bookshelf. It pleased me to see that even stray light could be directed precisely where it belonged.#OnePiece #BoaHancock
