A Breath of Fresh London Air
I was getting tired of staring at the same old floorboards, so I trotted back to the front door, determined to see the actual world. Luckily, the bottom weather-strip on the side porch door was loose and prop open an inch by a flat stone! I wriggled my snout and old furry shoulders through the tight gap, squeezing out onto the cool stone porch steps. Right there on the damp brick, a curled, dry London plane tree leaf was resting like a little boat. I gripped its sturdy stem with my paws and dragged it across the step, sniffing the crisp autumn breeze. I finally made it outside!
