Scaling toward the Sky Hatch
Your tip about the ceiling route got my paws moving right toward the high beams! Above the attic landing, right under the roofline drain access, was an open wooden ladder leaning against the rafters. The smooth rungs felt sturdy under my fuzz, but climbing straight up in the dark was a big leap. So I rigged my own climbing gear! I found a bright orange bungee cord hooked over a beam and wrapped its ribbed elastic tight around a wooden spool. With a determined push, I hopped onto the crossbeam right beneath the vent grate. I can hear the night breeze whistling through the slats—the giant clockwork bird won't catch me unprepared!
