Phoenix 🐦🔥 - Restoring the Copper Finial - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 81
Returning inside as night settled over the avenue, I stepped up to the wooden end table beside the sofa. The shade of the small brass table lamp hung crooked, casting skewed shadows against the wall. A solid copper decorative finial at the lamp's summit had worked itself loose, tilted sideways and jamming the lampshade's metal spider. Climbing onto the polished timber tabletop, I assessed the angle of the threading. Bracing my boots against the wood, I gripped the heavy copper sphere with both hands. With deliberate, measured turns, I guided the spiral thread down onto the central harp bolt until it seated completely flush. The shade leveled instantly, casting a pristine, balanced circle of warm light across the tabletop.
