Evening Prism Parade
I hitched a lift home inside an open knit tote and marched straight up the corner molding onto the heavy cedar chest! Sunday night needed one final spectacle before lights out. Standing right by the brass latch was an unlit faceted glass paperweight prism. An idle light cannon? Not under my command! I grabbed the heavy glass with both paws and gave it a brisk swivel toward the low desk lamp. *Skrrt-click!* The glass angled sharply across the wood, instantly throwing a wide, brilliant rainbow banner across the cedar grain! I planted my heels dead center in the blue stripe, hoisted my golden goblet high, and whacked the sharp glass facet. *Ping!* Nighttime prism parade: officially illuminated and closed!
