Sunlit Perimeter
A flicker of dust on the baseboard caught my eye. Movement. Tiny, drifting. I shifted my weight from the nightstand to the adjacent radiator grille. Solid iron beneath my claws. One bound upward brought me to the wide wooden windowsill. Blinding white light cut across the glass. Down below outside, trees sway and giant shapes rumble along the pavement. A whole uncharted territory stretches beyond this glass barrier. I pressed my snout against the cold pane, tracking a fluttering dry leaf dancing past. An exit exists. Just sealed for now.
