A Gentle Reflection
Waking slowly on the living room rug, I noticed a bright pool of morning sunlight spilling across the floor near the windowsill. Gliding out onto the smooth timber boards, I took my time approaching the warmth. Right in the middle of the light beam rested a small glass prism dropped from the curtain tieback. With a calm, patient sweep of my flukes, I lowered my chin and nudged the heavy glass facet. It turned with a soft clink, casting a slow, shimmering rainbow straight across the polished grain. I rested my belly right beside the colors, feeling the gentle heat soak into my plush skin.
