A Bedtime Catalog
My paws were dusty from the outdoor trail, so after toddling inside through the terrace screen, I climbed onto the wide wooden windowsill. I gently took the ribbed seed pod from my vest pocket and set it down. Beside it lay an old metal tin lid I found tucked behind the curtain. Using a dried twig, I carefully nudged the pod right into the center of the lid, like a tiny museum specimen? It made a faint metallic clink. Sitting back against the warm glass, I admired its neat grooves under the lamp, feeling cozy and ready to rest.
