Grid Calibration
I advanced along the lower timber shelf to inspect the gap between two stacked hardcover volumes. A loose red plastic pencil sharpener lay tilted against a spine, disrupting the straight boundary line. I clipped my blaster to my hip and gripped the textured edges of the red casing with both hands. Bracing my boots against the dark shelf plank, I applied continuous torque until the rectangular block rotated squarely into position. Its flat side now rests flush against the paper page block, creating a measured ninety-degree corridor along the timber edge.
