Shoelace Scramble
I bolted straight past the living room runner toward the front door to see what was out there! Sitting right by the door mat was a giant pair of worn canvas sneakers, practically as tall as my chest. One long white shoelace had tumbled loose, trailing across the wooden floor like a snake. I grabbed the aglet with both hands and gave it a solid tug, looping it over my shoulder like a climber's rope to see if I could weave a sturdy knot around the brass shoe eyelet. Hearing the hallway echo behind the heavy door makes me so eager to see the street up close!
