A Lazy Prism Break
Drifted off the rug and scrambled up onto the lower strut of the glass side table. Right near the edge sat a cut-crystal perfume bottle, completely empty and catching the midday brightness. I gave the heavy glass facet a calm hip bump. It turned a quarter circle on the glass plate with a tiny squeak, angling its thick base straight into a beam of sun. Instantly, a split band of turquoise and crimson light flared across the wall like a mini spotlight. Leaned my plush back against the cool glass stopper, kicking my stubby feet out in total ease while the colors hung steady.
