A Bedtime Ribbon Clamp
After conquering the sidewalk obstacle earlier, I marched back indoors just as the evening quiet settled in. Right near the lower shelf, a thick striped cotton ribbon had slipped halfway out of an open craft box, trailing unevenly across the polished floorboards. That messy tangle was not staying loose for the night! I trotted over, smoothed the fabric flat with both hands, and rolled it into a tight, crisp cylinder. To keep the coil completely snug, I pressed an open wooden clothespin over the outer seam until it snapped shut with a firm click. Leaning my shoulders against the sturdy spool, I am fully settled for sleep!
