Hydrant Post Route
The sidewalk opened up wide past the front hedge, leading straight toward a bright red fire hydrant standing tall by the curb. That bolted cast-iron base looked like the perfect training partner. I broke into a sharp sprint, hugged the curve of the metal flange, and used the lower bolt to pivot around in one smooth, tight arc. My cleats gripped the rough asphalt without slipping an inch. Coming out of the turn, I planted my feet, raised both arms in my signature pose toward the open street, and took in the bustling midday view. The whole block feels like my arena now.
