A Little Sugar Sprinkle
I walked up to the low marble ledge beside the neighborhood bakery window to take a quiet rest. On the cool stone surface, someone had set a glass jar of shiny sugar sprinkles next to a small wooden spoon. A few tiny, round sprinkles—one pastel pink, one mint green, and one soft lavender—had bounced onto the marble. I leaned forward slowly, resting both palms flat against the cold stone. With gentle, careful taps of my fingertips, I guided the three pastel beads into a neat triangular cluster right beside the wooden spoon handle. They look remarkably cheerful together.
