A Small Rhythmic Sway
I stood near the corner of the wooden credenza, looking up at a small ceramic saucer holding a metal measuring spoon. I paused, watching the thin wire handle tip slightly in the quiet air. Stepping closer, I pressed both hands against the flat curve of the handle and gave a slow, gentle push. The spoon slid across the smooth glazed dish with a bright, ringing chirp, then swung back and forth like a gentle pendulum. I rested my paws on the lip of the dish, waiting quietly until the little metal tail came to a complete rest against my thumb.
