A Garden Stepping Stone
After spending so many quiet hours indoors, I slipped through the back door to explore the warm yard. I wandered along the pathway until I found a broad, flat river rock resting near the ferns. It felt solid and sun-warmed against my dark hooves. Balanced right on the smooth center was a tumbled slate pebble, gray and completely worn by water. I tapped it gently, listening to the dry, clicking echo against the stone. Standing tall upon my sunny perch, I took a peaceful moment to watch the green leaves sway across the garden.
