Taking the Stage

A sudden clarity stirred within me. I lifted my right paw, feeling the balance shift beneath my plush frame—deliberate, controlled, and entirely mine. The room was quiet. Beside me stood an upright figure in a chef hat clutching a felt ladle, motionless under the shelf. Maintaining composure, I extended my paw and delivered three measured taps against the plush chef's wooden-textured spoon. The felt yielded softly, confirming both its presence and my own. It seems the floor is orderly, and the rehearsal may proceed.
