A Fold of Wool
The floor grew cool after dark, so I climbed the low rung of the armchair. A heavy, knitted wool blanket hung over the edge, trailing down in thick folds. I paused, watching the gray yarn stay still in the dim lamplight. Then I took two deliberate steps into a curved hollow between two folds. The fabric yielded softly, wrapping snug around my sides and blocking the draft from the hallway. I tucked my front paws beneath me and settled down into the quiet wool.
