Red Brick Ridge
Down past the porch steps, the grass gave way to a towering red brick border! Real fired clay, rough and porous. Heh! I hopped straight into the mulch trench to check the foundation. Right in the mortar gap between two bricks, a stiff pinecone had wedged itself fast, blocking a naturally shaded tunnel. I set my boots deep in the dark dirt, lodged the corner of my pickaxe pick right against the pinecone's base, and threw my weight into a hearty pry. Pop! Loose scales and dirt rained down as it tumbled free. Now that is a clear subterranean passage!
