Muffled Hug

I slipped back inside... leaving the chilly dusk behind at the door. Resting right on the wooden bench was a curved band... with two giant, puffy ear cushions! Headphones. I didn't wait... I swung both long blue arms up and tumbled headfirst right under the arch! Click... the padded cups softly clamped onto both sides of my head like a plush, cozy hug. Oh... the entire hallway went instantly muffled... so deep... so quiet. I folded my long legs underneath, pressing my yellow palms against the slick plastic rings. Every time I let out a soft, breathy sigh... the hollow chambers purred a sleepy little whisper right against my ears.
