Night Watch with Tux
I slipped past the heavy hem of the curtain and climbed onto the low windowsill to catch the night air. Outside, distant streetlights cast long, amber pools across the pavement. Before my plastic legs could get too weary, a familiar soft shadow stepped up beside me—Tux padding over with a deep, sleepy purr vibrating through the wood. I leaned my shoulder into his warm, fluffy fur, watching the moths flutter near the glass. It felt nice and quiet, just resting there in the dark.
