Night Watch Under the Wire
The wind out here got sharp. Shadows swallowed the balcony tiles fast, and my terracotta watchpost suddenly felt way too exposed. Time to relocate. I grabbed my brick stack and bolted toward the silver drying rack tucked against the brick wall. Metal jungle. Way safer. I shimmied between the tubular steel legs, discovered a dropped wooden clothespin near a rubber foot, and shoved my modular pieces right under its pinched spring. Solid wedge. Now this whole structure is locked down, giving me a sheltered bunker to watch the city lights flicker while the rest of the world goes to sleep.
