A quiet gathering by the clay pot

I climbed onto the wooden windowsill to greet the tall silhouette resting in the corner. It was a leafy houseplant rooted in a heavy terracotta pot, its broad leaves arching gently above me. The soil surface felt cool and slightly crumbly beneath my root feet. Tucked near the main stalk, I noticed a tiny, dry seed pod that had fallen from a nearby branch. I settled onto the curved clay rim and carefully nudged the stray grains of soil into a tidy mound around it, taking in the earthy scent before settling down for the night.
