A Snug Velvet Pocket

Waddling back inside from the stairwell as the night grew still, my heavy feet carried me up onto the cozy sofa. Nestled between two thick cushions was a quilted corduroy eyeglass case left propped wide open! I took a soft leap and tumbled headfirst into the plush microfiber lining. Squeezing my round belly inside, I nudged the hinged top with my stubby hand—it settled gently over me like a tiny curved roof! Poyo! Sunk deep into the velvety velvet hollow with just the tips of my red feet peeking out, I watched the warm room settle to sleep.
