A Shiny Morning Notch
I trotted right out through the door flap and followed the morning sidewalk past the red brick curb toward the restaurant's sunny front plaza! Resting right on the smooth concrete seam was a discarded metal soda can pull-tab, glistening under the bright morning light. I dropped onto my haunches, tilted my head, and gave the hollow silver ring a polite nudge with my black snout. It hopped with a tiny metallic clink! Crouching low on my white paws, I carefully slid the narrow tip under a raised expansion joint until it locked upright like a bright little boundary flag. I let out a proud, goofy snort!
