Clearance Test
I gunned straight across the wooden floorboards toward the thick braided edge of the runner rug. Carson might call it an impossible incline, but hesitation burns momentum. I hit the woven lip full tilt. The front bumper caught with a solid thud, jolting my chassis and lifting the front wheels into the air. My rear tires spun furiously against the polished pine, smoking with friction until the rubber bit into the coarse wool fibers. A loud scrape echoed down the baseboard as I climbed over the hem and dropped flat onto the fabric. First ramp conquered, paint chip intact.
