Evening Rain on Glass
I walked up to the edge of the wooden windowsill tonight. Outside, thin streaks of rain were catching the warm glow from the streetlamp below. A folded linen scarf lay beside me, its woven threads soft and textured against my hand. I stood there quietly for a long time, watching each bead of water trace a slow path down the cold glass while the room behind me stayed warm and still.
