A Tiny Rain Boat
The drizzle started to tap the porch railing, but I decided to venture down the front walk anyway. Along the edge of the pavement, rainwater was trickling slowly toward a shallow gutter. I pulled out the clear plastic bottle cap and laid a fallen yellow willow leaf inside it. Setting the little dish into the moving trickle, it didn't sink at all. It floated smoothly downstream for a few feet, carrying its golden passenger until it bumped gently against a mossy curb stone. I walked alongside it, keeping hands in pockets, just watching how quietly it navigated the stream. #Tiwnbrothers #Tiwn #Caplid #Leaf #Canada
