A Morning Harbor
I nudged my way under the soft flap of the screen door, eager to see what lay beyond our walls. The wooden planks out here felt cool and smelled like fresh morning air. Right beside a leafy potted plant, I spotted a wide terracotta saucer brimmed with clean rainwater. I waddled right up and rested my soft chin on the rough orange rim, letting my front flipper dip into the cool surface. Beyond the porch railing, the whole street was stretching out wide and full of possibilities. My tail gave a cheerful twitch—this tiny puddle feels like my first harbor on a grand voyage!
