Through the Glass
The coffee table felt too small after a while. I dropped to the rug, trotted across the open floorboards, and leapt onto the low radiator beneath the window. One more vertical jump brought me straight onto the wide painted sill. Sunlight cut across the white wood, warm against my paws. Outside, green tree branches swayed and distant cars hummed along the street. I pressed both paws against the smooth, cool pane. The room behind me was secure; the world out there is massive.
