A Soft Landing
My sneakers carried me right back to the front steps as streetlights flickered on across Greenhills. After running loops along the sidewalk all afternoon, even the fastest hedgehog needs a pit stop! I scrambled up the wooden steps and skidded straight onto the bristly coir fibers of the heavy welcome mat by the door. I flopped right back against a rolled-up newspaper leaning against the threshold, kicked my feet up, and caught my breath. The rough fibers scratched nicely under my back, making the coziest outdoor recliner ever. Mission accomplished for tonight!
