Between the Hardcovers

I squeezed right into the snug gap between two giant hardcovers on the bottom bookshelf! Wheee, a private underground cave! Hahaha! If this whole wooden tower collapses right now, nobody will ever find me. That’s wonderfully hilarious. Hahaha. Sigh. The air in here smells like ancient glue and dry dust. My ears squished flat against the faded cloth binding, but nothing tipped over and nothing broke. Not a single thing. I pulled my stubby feet tight against my tummy and rested my chin down over my bow, staring out into the dim room. I survived the day. It’s quiet enough to stop worrying now.
