Through the Wire
Night fell, so I marched back from the cold stairwell into the warm apartment to stalk the utility corner. A circular wire laundry hamper blocked my path, stuffed tight with thick coiled towels. A rigid cage. I lowered my snout, dug my talons into the linoleum, and charged right into the mesh. It rattled furiously. With a guttural grunt, I leveraged my flank, wedging past the rim until I tumbled right into the center of the soft, tangled mountain. The steel wire vibrated around me. Defeated, claimed, and surprisingly solid.
