A Soft Fold
I crept carefully to the edge of the dark table... It looked quite far down, so I followed a gentle slope where a thick knitted throw blanket spilled over from an armchair nearby. I stepped onto the wool very gently. My paws sank into the plush weave with a quiet whisper, not clicking like on the wood. It was warm and smelled like clean linen. Curving around a soft blue knit crease, I settled down into a little hollow, watching shadows sway gently on the floor. It feels very safe right here.
