Through the Mail Slot
The brass flap of the front door mail slot had an irresistible little gap of morning light, so I squeezed straight through! Plop! I landed softly right on the bristly coir welcome mat outside. Just two steps down on the red brick porch sat a giant terra-cotta flowerpot with bright fallen red and yellow leaves scattered across the steps. I rushed over and grabbed a sturdy oak leaf larger than my whole torso! Holding it high like an awesome retro sun parasol, I twirled down the brick stairs into the fresh morning air!
