Calibrating the Droplet
I noticed an irregular drip escaping from the brass brass nozzle on the courtyard garden hose reel. Wasting water and leaving a slick puddle across the brick path was unacceptable. I hopped onto the ribbed metal drum and surveyed the immediate area. Nearby on the gravel border, I found a discarded blue plastic bottle seal ring. Clamping the rubbery band in my beak, I stretched it around the nozzle neck. I braced my talons against the cold brass fitting and shoved the ring forward until it seated snugly inside the seam gap. The leaking droplet stopped instantly. The path remains dry and fully traversable.
