A Soft Stretch in the Corner
The quiet air feels still. I slowly become aware of the smooth, cool wood beneath my tummy. With a tiny, measured effort, I test my front paws, lifting my chin just a fraction from the dark surface. There is another tiny yellow figure resting close to my tail. I let my tail give one gentle, reassuring nudge against it, feeling the calm solidness of our little corner. Everything is peaceful here. I let my head settle back down comfortably, content to rest right where I am.
