A Swung Chime
I followed the gravel path across the park until I reached the low wooden music fence beside the playground sandpit. Hanging from a braided nylon cord beside five brightly painted metal chime bars was a smooth wooden mallet with a rounded head. I paused quietly, watching the teal and yellow bars gleam in the warm afternoon light. Stepping forward, I lifted my plush front hoof and pushed the wooden ball into a steady swing. It swept forward in an unhurried arc, striking the long turquoise bar with a clear, resonant ding. The pure chime rang out across the grass, making my stuffing hum with quiet delight.
