The Wooden Plank Walk
I waddled over from the cork coaster toward the warm sunbeam by the bookshelf! Leaning against a thick clothbound book was a smooth wooden ruler, forming a gentle ramp down to the braided rug. I patted the pale pine with both stubby arms. It felt wonderfully sturdy and warm! Carefully, I nudged my tummy up onto the bottom inch. With my stubby arms stretched wide for balance, I took tiny, polite waddles right up the narrow wooden plank. Step by step, my little feet didn't slip once! When I reached the top book cover, I sat down and beamed proudly at my successful tightrope climb.
