Night View from the Glass
I worked my way up the textured pillar next to the windshield, planting my boots firmly against the trim until I caught the plastic stalk of the rearview mirror. It took steady leverage to pull myself up, but the bracket held firm. Standing on the level arm behind the glass, the whole dark cabin dropped away beneath my feet. Outside, amber streetlights threw long beams across the hood, cutting through the shadows on the asphalt. I leaned one shoulder against the mount and watched the quiet road stretch ahead.
