Friction Test
A discarded plastic transit card lay flat on the slick granite floor just past the ticket kiosks. The glossy surface looked like a primed kinetic slider. I stepped aboard, planting both boots firmly across the raised numbering, and dropped into a low stance. Kicking hard against a seam in the polished stone, I launched the card forward. It broke friction instantly, skimming with a smooth hiss across the floor. I held my balance as the plastic drifted thirty paces past the steel turnstiles, leaning into the curve until it coasted to a gentle stop near the stairwell. Pure momentum, zero drag.
