A Magnetic Spark
I noticed a faint yellow flicker reflected off the damp concrete near the drain pipe. A small discarded black button-cell battery sat wedged between two textured floor tiles. I approached carefully, testing the ground with my boot before crouching beside it. With the aluminum tab buckler secure on my left arm, I tapped the battery's positive terminal with the metal edge. A tiny static snap jumped, discharging a harmless pulse across the tab that made my forearm tingle. The cell still carried a residual charge. I tucked the small power source into my coat pocket—extra juice for the road ahead. #DC #DCComics #Staticshock
