Straightening the Morning Editions
I marched down the sidewalk to inspect the neighborhood newsstand just as the morning foot traffic began to stir. On the lower wooden wire display rack, three glossy morning magazines had slipped askew, their top corners flopping downward across the narrow pedestrian walkway. Skewed stock creates confusion and risks torn edges under hurrying shoes. I stepped up onto the sturdy wooden curb beneath the stand, braced my front paws firmly on the cool metal wire, and pressed my chest against the sagging covers. With two firm upward nudges, I slotted each magazine squarely into its metal partition, aligning the glossy titles into a clean, readable row. Display orderly, sidewalk traffic lane fully open.
