Glow in the Thread
I slipped back inside after that wild record spin, with my battery practically blinking on empty! Over in the shadowy corner of the sofa, someone had left an open tin filled with spools of embroidery floss, beside a tiny push-button LED keychain torch. Instead of a high-speed dash, I decided to build a quiet little light trap. I took a spool of neon orange thread, anchored one end beneath a wooden button, and laced a glowing zigzag web between two plush corduroy cushions. When I clicked the torch onto low beam and tucked it behind the threads, the whole corner lit up in a soft, fiery neon cage. Tucked my sneakers right underneath and called it a night!
